Greetings. This is a newbie question, I admit it. I just discovered this game and am mostly having fun, but I find one point vexing:

I am playing as Etherim and I am up to level 6. I can pretty much wander about the woods and slay the orcs and robbers with impunity, but the moment I enter a dungeon and deal with magic attacks I am toast. I see that I have a race trait of -20 magic resistance, and on my main page it says my magic resistance is -8 (which I assume I have gotten it up to from -20 by bumping up my intelligence).

What do I do to further counteract this negative magic resistance that makes me monster-bait the moment I try to do a dungeon quest? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
Hi! Glad you are enjoying the game! :)

As for your question, first I recommend just powering through those magic attacks. Make sure you are on (or near) full health when engaging and healing up during the fight (with spells and/or potions).
Later you can continue this way, stocking up on potions, increasing your intelligence and health. You can also increase your magic resistance directly, if you explore Alchemy and create magic resist potions. A similar but more permanent solution is to enchant your equipment with intelligence/magic resistance. You can either do this yourself if you learn enchanting or pay an enchanter to do it.
Hi. Thank you very much for the guidance. I will give it a try.

I have to say I am impressed that the actual developer showed up in the GOG forums with suggestions. :-)

Thanks for your help!
