Do i really have to download the whole Dreamfall Chapters game (many gigabytes) again to be able to run small patch? I just downloaded the full game a month ago.

I think gog should provide patch that updates any version of the game or the older patches released between versions which would be needed.
ummm, if u talk about "patch 4.2.1 - 64bit version only" and u use the 64bit version of the game, u dont need to download the full version. check which version u installed...
if u scipped some game updates, u are right. im not a fan of GOGs update (and information) -system too in many ways.

I checked and the games exefile is 64bit, actually there is also 32bit version under the Dreamfall Chapters_Data\_32 folder.

Anyway my game is installed from "setup_dreamfall_chapters_2.9.0.13.exe".

I can install older "patch_dreamfall_chapters_2.9.1.14.exe",
but the patch is somehow flawed and the game hangs on loading screen or something, i've read others have had problems with this patch too.

The new patch is "patch_dreamfall_chapters_2.10.0.17.exe". It is downloaded from "patch 4.2.1 - 64bit version only" link.
This patch says it does not support my version of game (regadless whether i install the older patch or not)... which on my opinion is strange because i havent seen any patches between these on download page.
But maybe i have then missed some patch, which can't be downloaded anymore.
sadly u have to download the full version of the game and the 64bit patch, if u use the 64bit game. the repaired patch 2.9.1.14 is now a part of the main setup files. no idea why they did it and why they cant use a system to replace only the new files, but normally they have a good reason. they dont try to annoy us i think :)

i havnt seen always notifications for all the updates we had the last weeks, so its easy for us to miss something.
there was this buggy patch, than they "repaired" it and forgot to include the 64bit version, than they added a seperate 64bit download and now we have this patch for the current 64bit version of 4.2.1.

update: u only need the main setup files, the new patch 2.10.0.17 is included. seems like they updated the main files today.

update 2: i would uninstall the game before u install it again. the _32 folder isnt needed anymore.

Well, I have too many different versions of this stupid game and I'm very tired of all the confusion surrounding Book 4. I will NEVER, EVER buy another game that is still in production. It has been more than 15 months since Book 1, and there's no indication the game will ever be completed.

I will wait another however many months/years/decades for Book 5, Book 6, or however many more it takes so the game is finally completed, and then patched, repatched, have all the repatched patches repatched, and so on, and so on, and then maybe I will be able to download a version that will be playable.

Sorry for the rant. The first 2 games in the series were the best I've ever played; I am so disappointed in this 3rd attempt.
its never wrong to wait till its finished and bugfixed. i think everyone can decide to wait to get a chilled gameplay or to use every update and getting annoyed about bugs sometimes. plus: in this case gog produced the bugs, not RTG.
so for me its no reason to rant ;)
and when chapters is finished it will be a great game too and i will be sad cause the story is over. think about how many games like this exist...
