I'm trying to play this between my desktop and laptop but I'm curious to know where the save files could be found?

There is a CONFIG.EXE in your game directory, with which you can set your save folder. By default it's C:\Users\%Username%\Application Data\FALCOM\ED6

Just as you posted this I found the save data button in the Config. Thanks anyways, it's really appreciated.

I know this is an old post, but it was exactly the answer I was looking for. Thanks!

A good rule of thumb when looking for save locations is to search PC gaming wiki for the location

Thanks for this tip. I have the Trails in the Sky trilogy on both GOG and Steam. When I installed and ran FC via GOG Galaxy, I couldn't find where the save files should have been stored. That's when I consulted the PC Gaming Wiki which listed multiple save game data locations; I eventually found them in my Steam account's save folder, which in this case was C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<user-id>\251150\remote\FC. It's weird how this game overlaps between platforms.

This is odd . That's not the normal location for the GOG install. But if you had already installed the game on Steam before then it may have kept that location in the registry when the GOG version was installed and just re-used it.
So \ED6 is the subfolder within \FALCOM for Trails in the Sky FC. Out of curiosity, would the subfolder for SC be \ED7 and for the 3rd, \ED8?
