I'm going to buy a xbox one controller (used) that i plan to use for Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor because I'm running windows 10 and the xbox 360 controllers I've found only support windows 7 and 8. I want to test the controller (I don't have Shadow of Mordor yet, gonna try to get in steam summer sale) with Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky to make sure it works, but I want to be able to change back to mouse/keyboard when I'm done. Can someone please post a step-by-step on how to do this?

EDITED FOR CLARITY: I guess a simpler way of asking would be: Is it any more complicated than plugging the controller in when I want to use it; if it works, use it, then unplug it when I'm done and then windows will automatically go back to mouse/keyboard?

UPDATE: I answered my own question. I got my controller recently, plugged it into the back of my tower before I started Shadow of Mordor. When the game finished loading my controller was recognized automatically. When I unplugged it, the controls for my other games reverted to mouse and keyboard. I feel kinda silly for asking a question that ended up having a ludicrously simple answer.
