I just recently installed this game just yesterday, and whenever I load my save file, I get this message in the upper right. And the Evuck homeworld is invisible on the system map. Right-clicking the evucks shows a blank background in the planet details screen, and 'location type' is also blank.

I see that there was just recently a new version released, which implements stuff from the new, second expansion, which isn't out yet. I suspect that may have something to do with this, from the pathname in question.

Don't know if this is entirely a visual bug, but my gut feeling is I don't want to keep playing if theres a possibility of long-term complications, even if it is only my tutorial run. Anyone know if its safe or not?

The game is stable even with the missing planet graphic. If you want to be cautious go ahead and start a new game (repeat if you get the missing planet type again). It should be patched up soon.
