I'm sorry, but I love House of the Dead (I played it so much on my Dreamcast back in the day), but it's really hard to see how remakes can be offered in this state.

Well, the fact that it's only (from what I've read anyway) compatible with contemporary PC-compatible guns is already pretty lame, because yes, it's “fun” with the mouse, but it's like playing an FPS with an aim-bot or Starcraft with an active pause on the space key (so you can give your units orders without stressing). But I can understand that implementation is costly and that it's too much of a niche accessory to invest development time for this compatibility.

On the other hand, what I can't explain (especially on the HotD 2 remake, even if the first one already suffered “a bit” from this) is that graphically, there are some nice lighting effects, the scenery and creatures have a lot more polygon and the textures are incredibly finer (fortunately in 25 years), but it's DISGUSTING, there's abominable motion blur, 2 out of 3 times when I pause the trailer the image is just a big pile of mud, blurred and unreadable (and I'm not even going to talk about the intrusive interface). . really not subtle).

What's the point of banking on graphics when so many visual effects make the image look nauseating, so much snot smeared across my screen.

Anyway, I'd put the 1st one on my wishlist and was a bit put off by the price and overall by the feedback (and video) I'd seen afterwards. I told myself that when the 2nd came out and if there was a package with both of them that was a bit interesting, maybe I'd snap it up. But when I see the treatment of the 2, which is even more unreadable... without knowing if it's possible to play a little on the graphics options (in “cheap” remakes, it's rare that the devs take the time to include a lot of options) to improve the rendering, as it is, I'm going to wait for a big (very big) promo... To tell the truth, if the game offered the original versions, I might have fallen for it and only played the original version.

I really can't stand motion blur, TAA (temporal antialiasing, the great specialist in blurred images and visual artifacts since 2015), and other post-processes that ruin renderings (even though they're supposed to improve them).

If you have any feedback for me on these 2 remakes, if for example you contate that you can configure the image well or that it's been patched or that you can play it with modern screen guns... don't hesitate to reply to this little rant.

I apologize for getting carried away, and if you like these remakes, so much the better, I really don't want to criticize or degrade the pleasure you get from them, it's just that I'm rather disappointed and frustrated, I would have loved, loved these remakes.
