If I open the menu too soon after a cut scene the mouse cursor disappears. I can't command units. I ca't select anything in the menu. All I can do is force the game to close.

Thanks for the report, and sorry for the very late reply on this one.

This particular issue with the mouse cursor disappearing after a cutscene and locking out the menu was identified and fixed in later updates quite a while ago. The game now correctly restores the cursor and input after cinematics, even if you open the menu right away.

If you ever run into anything similar with the current version, please let us know which mission you were on and your system specs, and we will happily investigate.
