I recently (five or six turns ago) built a Laboratory for my Alchemist in the hopes of making some poisons so that I can kill my shrew of a wife (how dare she run for the same office as me!)
It looks like the Poison Barrel is what I should be clicking, but I can't click anything in there (other than to go to another room).
So what are the requirements to use a Laboratory? With your help, I can murder the crap out of my wife.

Hi!
The Laboratory has no use like other rooms do. Instead, you can purchase some good improvements to help in the making of potions in the main room of the parlor. That's all it does; you can't make new potions in there.
Also, you can't do anything directly to your wife using an Alchemist's. The closest thing is the Toad Slime, but you have to use it on a house, not on a person.

And yeah, I have been smearing her home with Toad Slime for eight or nine turns now. She is a resilient woman.

I do believe there is a potion that you can use on two people that will make them hate each other fiercely for so many turns. If you use that potion/elixir on your wife and another rival that is being a pain in the neck, the two may come to blows and one may eliminate the other...

Indeed, there is the Bloom of Discord, available at the "Aromatic Herbs&Phials" market stall (and perfumers, but AI players tend not to sell in-store).
Also, you could check "Brian's Bookshelf" for a Tirade of Hatred.
