I'm too stupid to work out what to do in the game, and also too cheap to get the manual printed out.

I started out with the character of the innkeeper. I began courting a guy, working on improvements in the inn... and then used up all my dough.

Can someone kindly point out what I need to do? How do I make money? How do I get my man? Etc. Etc.

Sorry for the stupid questions, and thanks in advance.
Well, there's a post on how to operate an inn: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_guild_gold_edition/how_do_i_operate_an_inn

to be honest you might be better off starting with something really obvious like a Blacksmith. It's very clear how to make the money, you simply get supplies, make goods, sell at market. This should let you get to grips with the game.

Getting married appears to be an element of luck, I think you're more eligible as you get higher roles in office (and of course, more cash), so start working your way up the ranks of the town hall. Incidentally, you may not be able to do it with your first marriage, or even your first in your family tree, but marry someone rich, ideally one who is about to die.

There are posts on this forum that answer most areas of the game, I'd suggest having a bit of a play around, build up a more solid list of questions, then just browse this forum for the answers.
Played the Tutorial yet? That fixed the problem for me, and i'm now in the midst of a free game learning the less obvious professions while the obvious ones (see above post) provide me with a steady income almost automatically (viva la automatic traderoutes with carts... once i'd finally figured them out).

Have Fun :)
