After asking her to start the election early, so attempted to run to her next checkpoint, but got stuck in the garden of her house.

Happened to me once as well. But she was stuck already when I came to ask her about the election.

Just be clear: The election still went on fine, she just wasn't physically in the right position. So it's not really game breaking.

Thanks for flagging this, I've created a bug report for you so the devs can get to work on resolving this for you ASAP.
We will be posting about what bugs we have been able to resolve in the FAQ’s so please keep an eye out there for updates about what's been resolved in any upcoming patches.
