It's made clear of course that Gothic 2 GE is 'needed'.

Does Gothic 2: Gold Edition need to be installed at the same time, previously... ty very much )

do you still need an answer or no more?
GOG version is all-in-one repack. just bought base game is required to avoid legal issues.

Archolos is a standalone installation, you only need to have Gothic 2 in your GOG library to confirm ownership.
