urbium: The GOG version of the wonderful game by KINGart, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, isn't running the latest version; in fact, it seems to be an ancient beta, as there are bugs in it that were crushed even before release. While the game may be able to be updated through Galaxy, not everyone likes this intrusive service.
It's also damaging this amazing game's reputation, as the top-rated comment complains about a serious gamebreaking bug and then gives the game 1 star. This bug was fixed for the release.
As far as I can tell, The Raven Remastered has this problem as well, although at least its post-release patch didn't change much.
This is a serious issue. GOG needs to fix it.
I doubt BOUT2 is an ancient beta but you are correct, GOGs version is outdated. It is obviously not only missing the additional languages but also the patch they added in in 03/2015 on Steam see
here. GOGs version is 1.0.3.1. This goes for the offline installer as well as the Galaxy version - so "using this intrusive service" also would not even give you any benefit.
The Raven Remastered is also outdated. It has never been updated on GOG since its release which was on 03/12/2018. The only patch (at least for Windows which should fix a resolution error on launch) has been released on Steam on 04/04 see
here. GOGs version is 1.1.0.654 and again, Galaxy version is the same.
Unfortunately there are SEVERAL examples for outdated games here on GOG and in most cases GOGs efforts to get those updates are not really admirable (to put it mildly). You have several choices: contact THQ Nordic/ Kingart directly using Twitter / Facebook / e-mail / Steam and demand GOG to be updated. Some devs however simply don't WANT to update their games on GOG anymore since they don't have the time and prefer to put even MORE games to GOG that will be outdated at a later time as well. Again: GOG does not do very much to prevent this from happening since they are afraid to lose their partners. (Imo they should be mnore afraid of losing their customers). You could also contact support and tell them about it but in my experiences chances are slim to zero that this will have the wanted success. Last but not least you could demand a refund. In any case: MAKE NOISE! Don't just post here in the forums since GOG stuff rarely are reading these. Contact them and say something. You paid for a working and up to date game (maybe even two) and you should get it or GOG should lose the money for it - that is my opinion.
