Hey all,
So I bought this game having played the original an loving back in the day.
I did the normal install on my laptop which runs windows 10. When I start the game I just get a large white screen. Anyone else have this issue and know a fix or work around? An old grognard would appreciate some help. Thanks
I'm using nvidia geforce gtx 980m card on an acer predator machine. Nvidia is selected as default card, run as admin, updated drivers etc... I have even tried running as older version of windows with no luck.

If you are talking about BTIV, it is not a retro game. Runs great on Win10x64. But you do not specify what game you are talking about so it is difficult to help you.

No not BT 4. Bards tale trilogy, which is what I thought this forum was, my bad.

No, this forum is for all of the BT games...you just have to be specific about the one you mean. But--I have no problem with the Trilogy on Win10x64, either.

Good for you. your posts were real helpful.

Well, the only thing I suggest is to make sure you have installed the latest DX9.0c runtime from Microsoft, found here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429

If that doesn't help/fix it, then all I can think of for you to do is to make sure you are running the latest nVidia driver package for your system.

I realize it's not much help, but without your machine sitting in front of me there is, I'm afraid, very little else I can suggest.

One other thing--as I think of it--try disabling your AV program--and then running the game--sometimes an AV program can produce a false positive and completely cripple a game--happens regularly, I read about it often. My advice there is that if you are running an AV program besides the one that comes with WIn10, Defender, uninstall it and stick with Defender--it's all you need and has a very low incidence of false positives.

Wish I could do more, but telling you that the game runs fine on Win10x64 merely lets you know that the reason it won't run isn't because of your Win10 installation--if that was so then *nobody* running your build of Win10x64 could run the game. So, the information lets you know to look *elsewhere* for a solution--that's the value of the information. Again, this is all I can think of atm...Good luck!
