Hey everyone, just wanted you to know that the game update is currently scheduled for early next week. Steam and GOG will be available first (by Tuesday morning) with Microsoft Store (PC), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 available a few days later. This update addresses our first revision of graphics settings and some other high priority issues. In the meanwhile, thanks for the kind words about the game and for those of you who have had issues, thanks for both your patience and the information that you've provided which has helped us hunt some of these issues down.
Thank you for update.
I've got Galaxy and use it, and I noticed that even though I had "Update to latest version automatically" selected, I didn't see the update--about 3.8GB in size--until I deselected "Update to latest version automatically." I'm updating now, but I had to manually select it. Good thing I thought of checking else I'd have been waiting all day in vain, I suppose...;)

Well that is interesting, I didn't think of that. I tried exiting out of GOG Galaxy and restarting, and that didn't work. The update button didn't work. I then decided to try Verify/repair, and well that is redownloading the whole game for some reason, haha. It's at 77% so I am going to let it finish, hopefully that will install the update with the repair.

So Verify/repair worked for me. But your solution is the better way to go. Do you by chance of GOG Galaxy 2.0? I do, and wondering if this is a bug for Galaxy 2.0?

I'm using 2.0 with the same issue.

waltc's solution is working for me, it's downloading 3.9GB now that I selected the new version manually.

I'm on Galaxy 1.2.57--I don't see much sense in going to 2.0 until it comes out of beta. I had selected for Verify Install, as you did, but when realized how long it would take I decided to abort and uncheck the "Install latest version" block--and there it was, surprisingly. It doesn't have a game version number attached--it simply says, "Update 1", and I imagine that's why it didn't automatically update--because there's no version number attached! When it's installed it says only "Update1" inside Galaxy...;) InXile has had a long learning curve in using Galaxy--but they are progressing even if there are still some things they have left to figure out. At least this time they actually patched the game instead of forcing an entire 26GB download through Galaxy, as happened with every preceding patch before this one...;) Looks pretty good so far, too!

Is GOG Galaxy Overlay and the ability to take screenshots using Galaxy working for you?

Same for you, are you able to take screenshots through GOG Galaxy?

For me it no longer works. Inxile is aware and they are going to contact GOG about it.

Did the same and it worked like a charm.
Thanks
Are you sure this patch works? Because during loading screens in the upper right corner I still see 4.20.1 even after reinstalling.

Hi there, please reach out to our dedicated support team to see if they're able to lend a helping hand with this: inxile.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

Absolutely it works...;) Just take a look at the major improvement in the graphics, etc. It's rather obvious. The 4.20.1 game version seems to be the game version # inXile is sticking with for the time being--it denotes the DC version of the game. Note that "Update 1" doesn't have a version # itself, hence the reason it did not auto-update to the latest version, imo. What's great about this is that inXile actually created a Galaxy patch for the game, for the first time! Instead of the usual 26GB download, this was a self-installing (just had to click on "update 1" to install) 3.9GB patch...;) Had the patch been accompanied by a version # I believe it would have installed automatically.

So for those of us who aren't using GOG Galaxy, how do we install this patch? The original Linux release likes to crash periodically, I'm hoping the update reduces this.

I have to honestly say that if I was running Linux I would without a doubt dual-boot with Win10 for my games, and for those Windows apps I like or prefer that have no Linux distro version. Dual-booting is easy, and hard drive space today is dirt cheap, and keeping the Win10 OS updated is a snap. At that point you would literally find that your gaming options would instantly increase exponentially. Just a suggestion--not wanting to start an argument...it's not about which OS is "better"...it's merely about being practical, imo. If you are a person who really enjoys his gaming, you definitely should be using Win10 for your games if for nothing else. That doesn't distract at all from the value of a solid Linux distro--but rather enhances it, imo.
It's been nearly a month and the patch still isn't available to download. Can someone please provide us with an update?
