Is there a way setup mt32 for cd verson? i tried changing the resource.cfg, then also added MT32.DRV and just keeps crashing

There is a patched MTBLAST driver, that allows for MT-32 music, with Soundblaster digital sound.
Apparently it broke some sound effects so wasn't officially released.

After patching/replacing the files mentioned by @owaing, you need to install Munt, a MT-32 emulator (it's on Sourceforge). Then, edit the game's dosbox config file (in this case, "dosbox_willy.conf"), and add the port used by Munt to the line "midiconfig=". In my case, it was "midiconfig=128:0"

Then, start the game and hopefully, it should work.

p.s. You will need to launch Munt everytime you want to play the game with MT-32 music.
