I've been sitting with this feeling hopelessly lost; I know I am to form words with Y's as syllables, but come on... No hints for anything? How did people manage to solve this without a walkthrough? I feel like I am missing an essential hint somewhere? I hope that is the case, cause if not, I will have to spend something like 6 hours trying out all the words possible, which does not seem fun at all.

That does sadly seem to be the key, without resorting to a walkthrough. I guess the idea was that the limited vowels would narrow down the possible words, but it's still a pain. The puzzle book in the library should be able to give a couple of hints to the solution, iirc.

Hehe, old school adventure style... Makes me remember the casette tape recorder puzzle in Gabriel Knight 2. That was insane...
It amazes how some puzzles can really trip some people up, while that same puzzle may be a cinch for other folks. I remember the tin can puzzle as being easy for me when I first played it. However, I'd really struggle with the chess puzzles, while a friend of mine would solve them fairly easily. I guess we're all wired a little different.
is there a walkthrough for 7th guest?
