I own the original game, and after reading online and playing with my DVD version, etc. gave up and have the CD version working (pretty easily done). Videos are good, sound, etc. all works, yet there is no MIDI (the background music while you are playing).

I have read a lot of posts with different ideas, but nothing that seems recent enough or be for Windows 7 x64... nothing that so far, has lead to solution. Does anyone have a quick fix?

And if not, can anyone verify that the GOG version does in fact play the MIDI music under Windows 7 x64? I'll buy the game again, but only if the GOG team came up with something special that fixes the prob that I can't get elsewhere.

I run it with the midi enabled, it pretty simple. I actually installed a creative sound card with midi drivers but then found one laptop was working with onboard sound. someone wrote a patch file called vista midi which allowed you to set the midi in windows. this selection was removed by microsoft when vista came out. basically look in tex config panel in overseer & see what you have for midi, if its midi mapper it works if its default microsoft it doesn't
