Looking through this forum, it seems to me that there are at lot of folks who had their first encounter with Tex Murphy here on GOG. But also many who bought the games when they first were released. So my question to you is this: When and where did you first encounter Tex Murphy?

For my self, it was in 1995, when i was at university. A friend of mine had bought UAKM, and one friday evening I went to visit him. We were having a few beers and prepared to go out for a night on the town. He showed me this game with 4 cd's (remember this was quite new back then). If memory serves, he had not started playing it himself yet. So, we installed it, and started playing the game. WE DID NOT GO OUT THAT NIGHT! We stayed up very very late, and got as far as solving the case involving Sal's affair with a girl from the Regency escort service. We were amazed, the game play, the graphics and the humour. So, as soon as I had the money for it, I went out and bought the game myself. This was followed by PD and overseer as they were relased.

Later on, a change in OS meant that I could not play the games anymore, I still kept the CD's. Then, by pure chance I came upon GOG, and saw that they had the games, for 10 bucks each!! So I bought and downloaded them straight away. Simply install and play! No disk swapping, and the games just as fun as I remembered them.

Whats your story?

I was looking in the local pc store for a game that wasn't a kids game I bought murder in the first degree a quicktime FMV & I really liked FMV I then saw pandora & immediately selected it due to the story. I had many 2-3am nights trying to survive being killed by the black arror killler. I had a P4 processor & the game crashed a lot in those days. When I finished pandora I immediately got on line as I had to have overseer. Bought it & when it finally arrived from the united states & I remember unboxing it & thought "what the hell is a DVD disk". Years later when I got a PC with a dvd drive I thought great now I can use the dvd disk but I was wrong.
