Hello again-
I'm at the part in the game where Tex confronts Chelsea after being knocked out in Malloy's apartment at the Ritz.
When the scene is trying to change to the "Fucia Flamingo" scene, I keep getting the error message above and the game crashes.
Any suggestions? I have 2 GHz processor (AMD) and 1 GB of memory.
Thanks

this not a normal crash with the original cd's or the gog version. I suggest you check if you have programs running in the background
Maybe check your virtual memory settings and increase it a bit. Worth a try.
I'm also getting this error at the exact same point.

Windows 7 x64
AMD Phenom II X4 N930
6 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 5650 1 GB VRAM
Was this ever solved? I'm having the same issue.
Try editing the dosboxtex4 config-file, there's a line with memorysize there, make it 32 or higher. Should solve the memoryissue.

(the memory isn't linked to the physical or virtual mamory that your computer have, but to what the simulated computer in dosbox have)

This fixed it for me exactly, thanks very much!
And for me too. I wonder why GOG has the config set to 16MB by default? Seeing as this is an "in game" crash rather than DOSBox crashing, I wonder why it doesn't occur for everyone?

original sys req for the game:

System Requirements
MS-DOS or Windows 95
486/66 MHz processor(Pentium recommended)
8 MB RAM (12 MB for Windows, 16 MB recommended)
SVGA display, VESA compliant video card
2x CD-ROM drive (4x recommended)
20 MB hard drive space (30 MB recommended)

gog might have based it on this

Does the recommended memory account for the absolute highest video settings? I also wonder if it might be due to a slight difference between DOSBox and MS-DOS, but you'd think GOG would play it all the way through on DOSBox.

Thinking back to the MS-DOS days I'm reasonably sure that I got it to run on 8MB RAM at least once on a P1, bought more soon after, though :D

As to the quality settings, I could not comment, as that is a detail I do not seem to be able to recall fully, just a hazy memory of having to activate the automatic resolution control and having to make the window smalller...maybe
