I purchased Overseer from GoG, unfortunately it always stopped responding/"hang" after a few minutes of gameplay and I had to alt-tab back to Windows.

To stop this from happening I simply had to right click on Overseer.exe and

set "Compatibility mode" to "Windows 98 /Windows ME"

selected "Disable visual themes" and "Disable desktop composition" and Run this program as an administrator.

This allows me to play the game crash free in 800x600 resolution and with hardware acceleration enabled.

I thought this could be of use to others.

(System specifications for reference: i7 920, Win 7 x64, 560ti, 6gb ram)

Nice work man! This solved my issue with crashing after a few seconds of gameplay! Just in time for the new game. I must beat this!

Awesome fix, thanks v much, enjoying playing through the last one before tesla effect comes out now!
Hm, it doesnt work for me... The game still keeps hanging after a few seconds of playing. :-(

EDIT: Following your instructions but setting the game to run in software-mode (640x480) seems to do the trick for me. I've tried it and haven't had a crash in 5 minutes (as opposed to every 15 seconds or so). I hope it stays that way!
