So, Day 8, Elijah Witt's apartment, I'm doing the "scrabble" puzzle, the one that you activate after using the key on the statue's belly... and I know it's supposed to be simple, but jeez, I seem to having one heck of a time.
I'm in GP mode, and most of the "scrabble" puzzles have been simple enough. But damn, people. Just damn.
Alright, so, I observed the Mayan chart. I got all the symbols for the numbers. But that's not the problem, the big problem is... well, let me just show you...
Perhaps this is Karma biting me in the ass because I accidentally let Archie die?
I didn't know I should have warned him! Honest! I wanted to keep him around for information in the future!
Oh, Archie... you poor bastard! You could have been dancing with skanks on a beach!!!!
Skanks on a beeaaaacccchhh!!!!!!!
I've literally searched for "Pandora" walkthroughs on Google for 2 days now, and all they say is "solve the puzzle" and so on, and so on...
I guess it doesn't help that they're all the same walkthrough with someone else taking the credit for other die-hard Tex fan's work from back in the 90's.
Anyways, here's the video. I don't know if youtube embedded videos work on here, so I'll try to post an embedded video. If not, I'll post the link below to show you my problem.

I keep getting the same results, no matter what I do!!?!?!??!?!?!??!!!!
Hmmm...last time I played, it was on the entertainment level, and the puzzle was 2x4, not 2x6, so the solution's different. I just figured it out, really. It seems to me that the trick is to start at the bottom. Get the bottom 3 pairs set, one pair at a time, and once they're set correctly, you only have to fiddle with the top three pairs. Then you have to arrange the top three pairs simultaneously, keeping in mind how all three of them have to turn out.
Other than that, I can't really help. If you're looking for a step-by-step solution, I'd try GameFAQs.com. Somebody SHOULD have a step-by-step answer there.
Best of luck!
I had a similar problem, normally I am very good at figuring out the puzzles on my own but for some reason this one would not click with me. I managed to find a solution screenshot in one of the walkthroughs and from there I was able to solve it easily enough.

I got it!!!
Thanks guys!
Oh, crap, now another hard puzzle!?!?!?!
The last box. Lol!
Now, how to use the emerald shards....

Nah, I checked gamefaqs, all it says is: "solve the puzzle". Lol.
All the other walkthroughs I looked at said the same, if not the EXACT same thing. I think someone just copied and pasted the same walkthrough from a decade-plus ago and put their handle on it.
There were no real solutions, more or less: "This is how it should look, now get it to look like that".
Thanks for all the help though. I think I'll record the solution on FRAPS since I solved it, just to help anyone in GP mode. It got really frustrating there for a moment.

The reason you are having problems with the puzzels is due to GOG missing out the examination files in the game. I copied the files from my version which fixed the problem. They had only 1 examination file included in the download. I found error in viewing the untranslated letter & at witt's apartment in viewing the books for the calender dates.

Have you recorded it? I've been bashing my head against this puzzle for a while now; I keep getting the same problem over and over again, with the top four blocks in the wrong order. It's almost making steam come out of my ears..
Harlander, like I told booty, if the top four are out of order, you have no choice but to fiddle with the third pair (from the top) as well. Shuffle the pieces around, and once you have the top four in the correct ORDER (not to be confused with the correct PLACE), return the third pair to their rightful places. If you just try and shuffle the top four around, you'll get nowhere.
With any luck, you'll be able to set them right. It's hard to explain how to do this puzzle, so I hope this helps.

the puzzle in gamer mode does take longer to solve
In GPmode the puzzle has got two tiles with the number 7, one close to the bottom and one close to the top from the startingpoint. I found it rather easy to solve the puzzle if you keep in mind not to use the 7 at the bottom in the bottom two numbers, but rather use the 7 at the top in the bottom two numbers. Totally made it for me when I got stuck, I just switched the two by flipping away until the bottom three numbers were correct. All of a sudden all the numbers was in the right place all by themselves. :)
I know this is an old question, but I recently finished a Let's Play of the Pandora Directive, and got a successful attempt of that slider puzzle for the camera. If anyone wants to see it, it starts at just after the five minute mark of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIUbRC93-Ks
Holy God, I've been locked in this puzzle for HOURS. Suraht, I can't see your video, YouTube says it's private :(
I did it!

RandomManA is right, to solve this puzzle you must get the three bottom lines right and then concentrate on the the three top lines. Bear in mind that, as soon as the bottom three lines are right, there is absolutely no need to move them again.

When only the top three lines are left, stop to think about the correct order. If piece number two must go below piece zero, you can "park" piece zero at the top line, and then keep rotating the pieces on lines two and three until piece two is below zero. Repeat and you're done!

It's kind of hard to explain, but there is definitely a logic here.
