I doubt any of the Terraria developers read this forum.

I don't know if there even is a project manager specifically for Terraria, but if there is one, I feel they've failed at their job.

Part of project management means that sometimes you need to slam the gates and windows shut on new features and mark them off for a future update, especially if you want your versioning scheme to make a lick of sense. 1.4.5 was meant to be a minor update with a crossover with Deadcells to be released in 2023. We're now in Q2 2025, approaching Q3.

And sure, a series of rapid fire updates might be considered annoying to others, but it also gives the public time to give that content a shakedown cruise. Even a biannual (twice a year) release schedule for content would give it time to grow and synergize with new ideas while still keeping a sensible scope.

As it stands right now, getting the update certified for consoles and mobile is going to be a tall ask for the porting team, and I can only hope they're up to it. That's another important part. Smaller updates means that porting jobs are easier for everyone involved as there's an actual scope to things.

Don't be distraught, this can be given a PR spin of a reannoucement as Terraria 1.5/1.6, "The update that got away", or "So big we skipped a version".
