Hi there

Just got a new laptop (Windows 10 OS) and would like to import my character and world files from my previous computer. I pasted them in the "Terraria" folder in the default "My Games" folder in the Documents library, as they were on the last computer, but this time the game won't read them. To see where the game is placing/retrieving files, I made a new world and character, but don't see them in the "My Games" folder next to my old game files. Where can I find my character and world files? Wherever that is, can I paste my old game files and access them as usual? Would like to pick up the game where I left off....

Thank you kindly

Open file explorer, click at the icon that shows a computer monitor (should be called 'This PC'), press Ctrl+F and search for *your Terraria character name*.
If your newest character is 'Joshua', that is what you'll put inside the search bar (without the single quotation marks).
That should show you where the 'Galaxy save' is.
Good luck.

If for example your username was "bob", you should be able to find your files here (hopefully the formatting is preserved):

C:\Users\bob>tree /F "C:\Users\bob\Documents\My Games\Terraria"
Folder PATH listing
Volume serial number is 1234-5678
C:\USERS\BOB\DOCUMENTS\MY GAMES\TERRARIA
│ achievements.dat
│ config.json
│ favorites.json
│ input profiles.json

World_1.wld
World_1.wld.bak
What's wrong with my method? :<

Anyway, I hope everything goes well to you op, whatever way you decide to proceed! =)

I couldn't care less about who get's the rep boost, so if that's what deoren wants (I mean no offense) give it to him , no prob. =)
