Fusion34x: ok tried that but it still runs a security scan. when I typed the command in I briefly saw a black box flash and disappear but no sure how to confirm it turned it off. so either I failed to turn it off correctly or something else on my computer is running the scan.. Is there a way for me to check that I turned it off correctly?
You can check in Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL), by looking at the 'Services' tab. You should also be able to stop it (right click) from there.

ok tried that, right click it and it says the operation could not be completed, access denied... so frustrating.. heh

It sounds like you don't have full administrative privileges, and that may be part of your problem.

I have to ask, but when you go to download these files, are you disabling MSSE right before you do that, or are you logging off or restarting your computer before downloading? You must disable MSSE right before a download, because it will just restart if you log off or restart your computer.

no I am trying to disable it right before I download it.. I don't think it gets disabled though.. when I go to MSSE and click them off it says they are disabled and turns red instead of green but after I download the game it still runs a security scan and kicks me out.

how can I give myself full admin privileges.. its my computer I thought I would have them already.. heh

Then are you sure it's MSSE doing this? Could it be Windows Defender, or Windows Firewall? Or something else? Try taking a screenshot of the actual error. including title bar, and post it as an attachment here.

I have windows defender turn completely off, if I go to it.. it asks if I want to turn it on, I have turned off my firewall completely and MSSE and it still scans at the end of the download. I don't think a screen shot is possible because I only see a flash of a message then I am booted out of the internet.. when it comes back up it says the session ended unexpectedly and would I like to restore that session.

Session? What 'session'? We appear to be going around in circles here. Earlier you said: "in the file download screen, it says this program cannot be downloaded then it kicks me out of the internet" You keep using the term "it", but I am still no wiser what "it" actually is. I can't help you unless you open up and help me.

the file download screen is the screen you watch while the game is downloading, you click on the game in your library the screen with the title of the game comes up with on one side saying game downloads and the name of the game the other side saying game goodies. I click temple of elemental evil, and at the bottom of my screen a small box opens up saying, Do you want to run or save setup_temple_of_elemental_evil. I have picked run and save both options fail after the file reaches 100%. At that point the box I was watching says the program cannot be downloaded which only is a flash I can barely read because at the same time I am being kicked out of the internet.. the computer brings back my internet but at the bottom there is a box just like the above run and save box that says this session (the internet session) ended unexpectedly would you like to restore the previous session. I hit yes and I am back to gog logged in ect.

So, why did you not just say that you are using GOG Galaxy? You *are* talking about GOG Galaxy, yes? If so, you need to contact support about this issue.

I cant download gog galaxy it does the same thing. heh Thanks a ton for trying hickory I will try support, you went above and beyond with someone who doesn't know computers that great. =)
