Any way to mark this post as a question/problem asking for help after it has already been posted? I neglected to mark it as such and cannot mark it myself after the fact. I cannot even delete the old post and resubmit with the correction.

First, I love CD Projekt Red, GOG.com, and The Witcher games. No hard feelings, I just want to get to the bottom of this. Please, help!

Problem:
Temple of Elemental Evil graphic glitch in any resolution. Characters and objects flicker on screen. Party and NPC charcters become fully or partially invisible -- can only see the blue selection ring at their feet and sometimes can see only their cloak. Parts or all of their bodies and armor/weapons have missing textures or the game fails to load textures. This is unplayable for me.

My system works beautifully for modern games. As an example, my computer plays The Witcher 2 flawlessly, so I dont know what the problem is.

Background:
I have recently installed the game for the first time using the GOG.com installer from this site. I have installed to the default GOG directory under program files and also have tried installing in a TOEE directory at root C:\TOEE to no avail. Installed, ran, and tested the game from my Windows XP Administrator account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I have tried all resolutions possible to no avail. The screenshot image attachments were at 800x600 (Only the cloak is showing on one character and two others are not drawn at all). Moving around the screen does not change anything other than which characters / what parts of the bodies, if any, are drawn. I have tried the AMD CPU Optimizer to no avail. I have tried installing the current Circle of Eight (Co8) 7.2.0 patch to no avail. I have tried changing the monitor resolution and game resolution many times to no avail. I have tried running in windowed mode to no avail. My graphic drivers are up to date. DirectX is 9.0C. I cannot for the life of me figure this out. Searching google for hours comes up with a few similar problems that say that it happens at higher resolutions, but for me, this is happening at ANY resolution. I would be fine if I could play it at 800x600 or 1024x768 at least.

System Specs (tried to upload dxdiag but your webite wouldnt take the text file for some reason):
Motherboard: Biostar TForce 550 SE (Bios Version N55SB-A2T)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Brisbane 2.9GHz
GPU: Geforce 9800GT 1024mb 256bit GDR3 PCIE (Driver Version 6.14.12.9610)
RAM: G.SKILL (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Monitor Native Resolution: 1680x1050 Acer 22 Widescreen LCD.

Operating System: Windows XP Professional. SP3. Updated regularly and recently.

Antivirus: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012; updated daily.

DirectX 9.0C

***Edit*** I redownloaded the GOG installer and tried installing again with the same negative results.

Forgot to mention earlier that I opened my graphic card control panel and shut off all anti-aliasing to see if that was the problem, but had no luck. FYI, I immediately put each option back to default as they were tried in order to methodically and systematically isolate a possible fix without introducing new problems. Then I shut them all off at once...still no luck.

Solution: I had to install an old Nvidia driver to get this game to work without the flickering / flashing / invisible characters / textures not loading / only the blue ring at their feet visible. Details Below:

Go here to download old driver from Nvidia's Archive: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

Get this Driver (It worked for me): GeForce 275.33 Driver June 1, 2011

System: Nvidia Geforce 9800GT, Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (SP3)

Caution: For the first time in my life I had a great deal of difficulty replacing my current video card driver. I had the most current at this time (296.10) and wanted to replace it with an older driver as a test to see if it would fix my graphic glitch problems. The uninstall failed. the reinstall failed. I had to use a driver cleaner and registry cleaner to get the faulty driver uninstalled and the older driver installed, but in the end, the PhysX driver would fail to install every time. I have not found a way to get the PhysX driver installed but the game doesn't need this feature so I am done messing around. I'll probably just end up restoring my partition backup after I have had my fill of playing "Temple of Elemental Evil" and be done with it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've heard that reinstalling the older driver would mess up the PhyX. Can anyone confirm this? If it's true, I don't feel like the hassle of uninstalling the latest driver right now.

Has the issue been fixed in the final update of the mod?
