Hey guys never played TOEE before, only know about it because of Project Eternity so after watching some Let's Plays I grabbed it from GoG, grabbed the Co8 Modpack and cranked the character limit to 8.

Originally this was supposed to be a let's play based on a few friends of mine, inside jokes and the like with a few jokes about popular geek culture stuff...you know schlock, but we love schlock so it would have been great.

Anyways I digress here's the characters I made just note that their backstories having nothing to do with the actual story (having never played it) and just serve to give the charcaters well some character.

Character# 1 - The Bucket of HPs and Death
Matt Mugen is a giant of a man and whilst he's called the "Gentle Giant" by his friends this infamous mercenary strikes fear into advesaries simply by just being there

Matt "The Spammer" Mugen Chaotic Neutral Half-Orc Barbarian (Kills Things)

-Weapon: Spiked Chain

-Feats:
-Barbarian 1: Weapon Proficiency (Spiked Chain)
-Barbarian 3: Power Attack
-Barbarian 6: Cleave
-Barbarian 9: Great Cleave

Character# 2 - The Loyal and Stalwart Warrior of the Gods

Gaspar is a bit of an odd Dwarf being that he spent most of his life underground but always had a love for the outdoors and the sun even going as far as aligning himself with Pelor when he left his home to "take up the cloth" now being a dwarf he was far more suited to crushing skulls than healing them as such he has been head of the High Priestesses Personal Guard for almost a decade. He's also one of the best blacksmiths in the realm and as such the majority of the Arms and Armor worn by himself and the other Holy Warriors are made by him. Whilst escorting the High Priestess to some diplomatic meeting one of the mercenaries that was hired to assist took off in the night, upon hearing this Gaspar offered to hunt down the scum and return him to face the High Priestess, his request granted Gaspar caught up to the Warrior days later and after a tough fought battle Gaspar's divine granted abilities allowed him to succeed but while getting ready to leave the warrior told Gaspar the reason for his flight was to aid the Archmage of Arkwall in a quest to eradicate evil, Gaspar whilst still furious with the man was intrigued and asked the man his name..."Arcasglen" he exclaimed looking quite proud despite being tied up...."Well Arcasglen that is an honorable quest indeed, there's no way we can catch up to the High priestess anyways so I will accompany you, you can answer to her when we finish" with that shaky truce made Gaspar untied the man and they headed off to Arkwall.

Gasper Chaotic Good Dwarf Cleric (Healer/ Off-Tank)

-Domains: Good/Healing

-Weapon: Heavy Mace+Shield

-Feats:
-Cleric 1: Combat Casting
-Cleric 3: Brew Potion
-Cleric 6: Craft Magic Arms and Armor
-Cleric 9: Craft Wondrous Item

Character #3 - Eradicator of Evil

Arcasglen is a Knight who has dedicated his life to the eradication of all evil with an emphasis on the undead, no one truly knows why as he keeps this to himself. He is a worshipper of Pelor but has no issue with working with any religious group to further his goals. Whilst Arcasglen is a formidable fighter he is quite Young and more than a little arrogant and this can sometimes get him into trouble. Hearing of the call from the Archmage to "Purge the land of evil" Arcasglen could not help but rush off to join her despite being hired just yesterday to assist the High Priestess's Head guard in escorting her to a diplomatic meeting in a neighboring kingdom.

Note: This guy really should be a Paladin but like most D&D based games their forced to be "Lawful Stupid" refusing rewards and getting all whiney if the party so much as picks a single pocket or using less than honorable tactics in combat. So I just made a Heavily Armored B-Sword Wielding Paladin-LIKE fighter, mind you now that I think about it his impulsive nature wouldn't see him last long in an Order of Paladins :P

Arcasglen Chaotic Good Human Fighter (Tank)

-Weapon: Bastard Sword + Shield

-Feats:
-Fighter 1: Weapon Proficiency (Bastard Sword)/Power Attack/[Cleave]
-Fighter 2: [Combat Expertise]
-Fighter 3: Weapon Focus (Bastard Sword)
-Fighter 4: [Weapon Specialization (Bastard Sword)]
-Fighter 6: Mobility/[Dodge]
-Fighter 8: [Improved Critical (Bastard Sword)]
-Fighter 9: Spring Attack
-Fighter 10: [Whirlwind Attack]

Character #4 - The Mysterious Stranger[spoiler]
Kagero: Almost nothing is known about this figure (man?, woman?, beast?) beyond reputation as it rarely speaks and never reveals it's face...some even claim that Kagero isn't even a single person but many acting under the same name. All that is truely know is it wields a Bow as a painter would wield a brush and if it doesn't want to be seen he won't be...until it's too late.

Kagero Chaotic Neutral Elven Ranger (Archer)

-Weapon: Longbow

-Feats:
-Ranger 1: Point Blank Shot
-Ranger 2: [Rapid Shot]
-Ranger 3: Precise Shot
-Ranger 6: Improved Initiative, [Manyshot]
-Ranger 9: Improved Critical [Longbow]

Character # 5: The Duelist
Corona, a rogue of many talents through his silver tongue and skill with his trusty rapier has made quite a name for himself many calling him "The Greatest Swordsman in the world" especially when word spread of him almost single-handedly slaying a Colossal Black Dragon whether it be skill alone or an ungodly luck no ones can say but whats certain you can never have too much Corona whether it been during a fight or in celebration afterwards. Hearing of the call to adventure, fame, glory and riches put out by the Archmage Corona could not help but respond.

Note: If anyone gets the reference, congrats you get a cookie :P

Corona Chaotic Neutral Halfling Rogue (Skill Monkey/Tactical Damager)

-Weapon: Rapier

-Feats:
-Rogue 1: Nimble Fingers
-Rogue 3: Weapon Finesse (Rapier)
-Rogue 6: Combat Expertise
-Rogue 9: Dodge
-Rogue 10: [Opportunist]

Character #6 - Archmage
Lenith - The Archmage of Arkwall Tower is just as powerful as she is beautiful, so much so that many say she must be descended from the creators of this world to be gifted as she is but despite the power she wields Lenith is a kind and benevolent ruler who is pained by the evils plaguing this land and has sought assistance in eradicating these threats to the peace of the land, even going so far (despite the protests of her advisers) as to lead the expedition herself once it sets out.

Lenith Neutral Good Half-Elf Wizard Int/Con (Crowd Control)

-Wizard 3: Greater Spell Penetration
-Wizard 5: [Craft Magic Arms and Armor]
-Wizard 6: Craft Wondrous Item
-Wizard 9: Craft Wand
-Wizard 10: [Craft Rod]

Character # 7: The Chained Cannon

Feiru Koden: Feiru was once a terror sweeping the lands it took an army of the nations best soldiers & Spellcasters to take her down, After years of "rehabilitation" Feiru has started work as an apprentice in the Archmage tower most of her arcane powers were suppressed for so long that they have dwindled to almost nothing but she's determined to prove that she can still cast with the best of them as well as prove she's give up her rebellious ways and when the Archmage put out the call for adventurers to purge the land of evil Feiru abandoned her studies to join her Mistress in her quest.

Feiru Koden Chaotic Neutral Elven Sorc Cha/Con (AoE Damager)

-Weapon: Sling

-Feats:
-Sorceress 1: Spell Penetration
-Sorceress 3: Spell Focus (Evocation)
-Sorceress 6: Greater Spell Penetration
-Sorceress 9: Greater Spell Focus (Evocation)

Character#8 - The Chronicler

Roe - Roe is a Bard, that much is clear but roe had an idea, a wonderful idea...why just sing my songs of old and spin my tales of legend in a tavern or two when I could make a record of all the grand and terrible things that are happening now, I travel far and wide anyways I may as well inform while I entertain. So hence forth Roe was no longer just a bard he was Roe The Chronicler, not long after this venture was begun Roe happened upon Corona a confidant little Halfling who Roe thought would quickly get himself killed with that confidence of his, it would make a great story either way but it seems the halfings confidence was not unfounded as everything they encountered regardless of the odds the little halfling always came out on top, he truly is "The greatest Swordsman in the world". Now Roe follows Corona to heed the Archmages call.

Roe Chaotic Good Gnome Bard(Spokesman)

-Weapon: Longsword

-Feats:
-Bard 1: Negotiator
-Bard 3: Persuasive
-Bard 6: Combat Casting
-Bard 9: Dodge

i once played toee on 2005. the first game that i bought for my first PC but I only played it for awhile and found that it is too much to handle compared to Neverwinter Nights.

now i'm stating to play it again recollecting old memories ;)
Whats the actual question, or are you looking for general advice?
General advice.

Long reach weapons kick butt in ToEE unlike in any other D&D game. Spiked Chain is good, glaive, ranseur, longspear. Whirlwind attack with one of these would be twice as effective.

Attacks of opportunity kick butt in ToEE unlike in any other D&D game.
"combat reflexes" give more attacks of opportunity, with reach weapons even more.

I'm curious, would someone being tripped/knocked prone count as an attack of opportunity for a long reach weapon? If so, someone could trip, and someone nearby with a long reach gets a stab?
But yeah, attacks of opportunity are nice.

Also to the original poster. Without reading every detail, those characters seem like a nice mix. Some fighter types, mages, a rogue, a healer, a "spokesman". I'm guessing you're using the Co8 mod if you're able to put 8 player characters in the party. I'm curious if you've played any of the game since the first post.

I'm almost sure you get an attack when the tripped guy tries to get up if you're within range and have "unused" attacks of opportunity available (which is why combat reflexes is so neat).
Yep, recovery from Prone is the AoO trigger. Means everyone within reach with AoO's free has a go at them, WITH the bonuses for a prone target. Nasty! >:)
