I decided that with the lvl cap taken off, Im solon this game with a melee bard. Im specializing in strength, high constitution, moderate dexterity, and decent charisma and intelligence. My main skills will be hide, listen (for surprise rounds) tumble, spot and other charisma and dialog related stuff.

I figured since bards are naturally finesse fighters and good all around with everything, this might prove enjoyable. Im considering what weapon I will use, hopefully something with range. It can't be that hard with lvl cap, okay maybe undead will be but high endurance helps that.

Any tips?

The only long reach melee weapon that works with finesse, is spiked chain.
You'll have to burn a feat to get it, but it's pretty great.

Take "craft magig arms" and "craft wondrous items" so you can make your own magic items, those can really make the difference.

Though finesse is useless if your strength is on the same level as your dex.

There's a holy spiked chain somewhere in the Temple. Since you lack a cleric, you cannot craft holy weapons of your own. This could make the spiked chain very effective for you.

Bards aren't naturally finesse fighters unless you make them one. My advice: don't.
Just try to have high stats everywhere, if your strength is about equal with your dexterity you don't need weapon finesse.

If you're playing a bard, taking 1 level of fighter for martial weapon proficiency so you can use the holy longsword +1 from the start would be a good idea. Get a blunt weapon for skeletons too. Then go sneak around the Hill Giant in Emridy Meadows to get a good elven chain that will let you cast while wearing it, and you're pretty much set as afar as gear goes.
And keep in mind reach weapons are very effective in ToEE, so any kind of polearm or the spiked chain would be a good idea.

If you're playing a chaotic good bard, the best weapon in the game will be a bastard sword, followed by a 2-handed sword (depending on your decision whether to kill an NPC for his weapon or not).
If you're not CG, being able to craft magic items yourself is a good idea too, since you can craft weapons much better than what you can find.

Oh btw, How do make your character equip a sword or one handed weapon like scimitar of light mace and use it with 2 hands? I want to get a bonus from a scimitar or other sword as they have high critical hit chance.

Light weapon like light maces can't be used with both hands.
I'm not sure if using a 1-handed martial weapon 2-handed is implemented in ToEE. AFAIK only NWN 2 used that particular feature of D&D.
If it is implemented though, all you need to do to activate it is let your left hand free, and you'll automatically use whatever weapon is in your right hand 2-handed, provided it's not a light weapon.

You could also just use a falchion, which is 2-handed by default, but has the same crit range as a scimitar and higher damage.
