(This video is me, killed by Demon at Fire Node. You don't have to watch it, it just shows what happens when I fight stronger enemies)

Hello.

I'm playing Temple of Elemental Evil with Co8 and Temple+ patched.

Long story short: my character is lv 2 Rogue/2 Figher/9 Sorcerer that makes lv 13,

However, I can't level up anymore because I've wiped out almost every enemies.

However, all remaining enemies are too strong to kill.

Here's the Long version:

I've wiped out Deklo Grove(Spiders), Moathouse, Emridy Meadows(Hill Giant and some skeletons)

Wiped out Temple Dungeon Level 3, wiped out Fire Temple after I've done their quest,

Wiped out Water Temple.

Wiped out Lich Mathel, his minions.

All remaining enemies are Demons from Elemental Nodes, Earth Temple, Air Temple, Hendrack(Iuz Summoner guy), Zuggtmoy

However, they are too strong to kill and I don't have any enemies to get exp.

Sometimes I rest inside Temple to have random encounter, but most encounters are ogres and they don't give me much exp.

Furthermore, I can't recruit NPCs because I don't know why, but people of Hommlet are hostile to me. Elmo, Burne, Rufus died.

I can't go to Nulb too because I killed Dala and Nulb are hostile too.

Remaining companions are Zaxis(Bard), Sargen(Wizard) but they are too weak.

I have Fragarach and Scather and these are good weapons but it's not enough to beat them.

What should I do? I don't want to use console commands, should I re-start the game?

Sorry to chime in here months after, but did this get resolved and if so what did you do to get past this hurdle?

I guess I can jump in here and say a few things tho, in your present situation. I won't say this game is not soloable or what
you are doing is not "worthy", but I feel this game was not intended for this style of gameplay so that alone is hard to provide support for, tho can be entertaining and rewarding. You had mentioned not getting any enemies to give good experience points but when you slept trying to trigger random encounters you were getting ogres and the xp was not good enough, but it might be the only real option you have. I have not played ToEE in years and been toying with the idea of giving it another run lately and I was considering either a low man or possibly even loaner attempt, and if I ran into any problems using an npc to assist if needed so this topic interests me.

If you don't want to use console commands tho, grinding ogres might be your only hope, unless you found a place that gave better xp, that or just remorseless save scumming.
IIRC the Water Node will spawn Ice Tyrants which still give decent XP at high levels.

One other thing you can try is recruit a couple more PCs from the inn logbook and babysit them on random encounters to level 8-9. You'll probably want a Cleric & Wizard for crafting / buffs.

Otherwise you can turn on the DM option in Temple+ and edit your character ingame.
IIRC if you travel back and forth between Nulb and Emmridy Meadows, you can get 3 ettins as WM, which give pretty decent xp. WM in any of the nodes are pretty nasty, so I would expect they would give good xp.

I can't remember if Jaroo or Turjon can maybe raise Otis or Burne back to life?

If your PC can cast Dominate and you have decent Enchantment boosters, you can force most NPCs in the game to join your party for about a week or so of game time (about 120000 game rounds)... even NPCs that were never meant to join the party. While dominated, they act like any friendly party NPC. So you can dominate Turjon (very tough to do, as his save bonus is godlike), Mother Skreng, Hedrack, Smigmal, Falrinth, any of the remaining HL evil NPCs, Giants, etc. There's some fun exploits you can do w/ certain dominated NPCs. (e.g. Falrinth's magic missile spell generates 25 missiles per cast, Shenshock knows how to craft wands and wondrous items, Ranos Davl can generate unlimited gold, Smigmal can generate unlimited henchmen foes w/ lootable magic weapons, etc)

If you have Charm Person, many many humanoids in ToEE are susceptible to this spell and will switch sides. Some of the best are the bugbear elites (the ones w/ the spiked shields and spikes morning stars). They can be used as meatshields w/ like 70hp each. Just make sure you either have a spare charm spell for when the spell wears off, or make sure the spell wears off while you are enroute between towns (the charmed creature automatically goes back to the same dungeon room where you found it).

Sounds like you haven't encountered Taki yet (air node). She is a lvl 7 fighter, and might make a good member of your team. There is also Kella the druid, though I am not going to spoil how to find her.

If Darley is still alive (fire node), recruit her into your party and then use meta-magic to get heightened Magic Missiles so she can cast MM from any of her available spell slots. Her MM attacks work well vs even the MR bosses (at least to wound them). But to kill the bosses, you need to super-buff your best fighter PC with everything you can cast on them (that's where your wizard really comes in to it... he can scribe scrolls for all the spells to keep them going)... greater invisibility, mirror image, prot from evil, bless, strength, absorb energy, etc. and they need to go toe-to-toe vs the boss. If you can charm or dominate a giant that could work too. Glitter Dust and Grease bypass MR btw.

If you have killed any of the node bosses, the gem for that node will drop and you can add it to the Orb of Evil, which allows you to summon that demon type and/or elemental type to help fight battles. The easiest Node boss is probably Air (the Type I Vrock), so you could start there, and work your way up in difficulty... water is type II Hezrou, earth is type III Glabrezu, fire is type VI Balor.

IIRC Zaxis can be leveled up to maximize his fascinate song (maximize perform skill, add CHA & forge a magical instrument for him too). This is an extremely powerful ability that will 'daze' any single foe while the bard remains focused on singing. It works on all bosses except Zuggtmoy iirc. Give Xaxis the best magical elven armor + elven shield + a magic rapier. W/ the right defensive self-buffs, he can be a formidable tank.
