I have just started playing this classic for the first time. I am using the Circle of Eight modpack and launching the game with TemplePlus. Everything seems to be working flawlessly ... except for the scroll speed. It is just insanely fast even when I turn it all the way down to Scroll Speed=0.

I have tried different screen resolutions and currently running it at 1280x720 (my native monitor resolution is 1080p, but I find that way too high for the text and GUI of the game).

I have also tried fiddling with the settings in the TemplePlus.ini file:

scroll_butter=300
scroll_butter_type=1
scroll_speed=0

... but nothing makes the scroll speed acceptable for me. The scroll speed issue is both with mouse and keyboard by the way. Interestingly, the mouse cursor is pretty much fine as is... it's only a problem when scrolling the game world view.

I am running Windows 10 64bit.

Edit: Also, the "Center on Character" function doesn't work for me. According to the documentation, this should be the "Home" key og left-clicking the character portrait. This is especially annoying when combined with the too fast scroll speed where the camera just takes off and you are left to wonder where your character all went. I simply can't bring myself to play the game like that where I have to spend so much time just locating my party members.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The same problem here. Map scrolling is so fast, it makes game pretty much unplayable (or at least unenjoyable).
On Win10 with Co8 latest version and Temple+ (also latest version as of this writing). I found the same issue, but when I go to Options and move the scroll speed slider all the way to the left, it works for me. Scrolls much slower now and isn't nearly so annoying.
Hi,

usually setting the scroll speed to 0 should solve it, but some modern systems might be so fast that even that is too much. The issue is caused by ToEE doing a "scroll" every frame, i.e. it's proportional to your FPS.

For the next version of T+ I'll cap this to 66 FPS equivalent so it doesn't get out of hand but still allows you to scroll very fast if you want it.

I'm pretty damned impressed with all the work you're putting into the mod, and having a blast with it. As I noted above, I find the scroll speed is fine now after adjusting in the options menu. Not sure why it's working for me and not others (my rig has an i5 6600k at stock speeds, and a GTX 1070). Anyway, just wanted to say 'thanks' for your continuing efforts. :)
Thanks!

Regarding the Home key / pressing the character portrait

As far as I can tell, the issue arises only when Scroll Acceleration (aka scroll_butter) is disabled. Even then, it should work if the distance is very large. This seems to be the case in Vanilla ToEE too. Has anyone had a different experience?
