I'm running ToEE with the latest Co8 modpack, on Windows 8.1. Installed the game to d:\Temple of Elemental Evil, opened the Co8 files there and ran TFE-X in administrator mode. Activated the Co8 modpack on TFE-X, and started Co8.

I get the opening screen with the cathedral background (intro is disabled), and the blue bar moves almost all the way to the right where it hangs on "initializing sector data". If I leave it long enough the menu screen appears, but the mouse is frozen and I cannot access the menu options with the keyboard. I have to end the process from the task manager.

Any ideas?

After reactivating the intro movie and rebooting it seems to work. It still seems to take too long on the "Initializing sector data" message, but the mouse moves fine when I have the game menu screen up. And I could start the tutorial, so all's well..

My guess is that the approx 10s additional delay between "initializing sector data" and the menu screen (I break out of the intro movie) is enough to allow some other process to complete behind the scenes.
