IS it possible to skip the intro? Have to go through this every time the game starts.

Can't you do it by pressing ESC and keeping it pressed until it skips ?
After that just press F1 to load your last game

thanks mate, tired and with a bit fever it was a long way from pressing escape several times to keeping it pressed :)

Pressing F4 will bring up the load/save quit, ect panel.
