As Edge Thane! Totally awesome!

But seriously, I reached first big boss and he and his minions wiped my ass... Any idea how to level up edge thane? How to build him up? Should he be single or multi class/job?

I'm honestly not sure. I'm avoiding the tricky classes until release, but using traps should help and multiclassing can be pretty powerful with any class. Paladin could help make them more durable, but I haven't tried it yet.
Sword Dancer + Edge Thane seems like a decent combination, and might even be the best 2H melee build. Both have parry bonuses and interactions, and both have duration skills. I'm not sure what order you should do them in, but I'm giving it a try with Sword Dancer first.

"Hard" classes might be easier if you take them second, a little after the first boss. If you have your main Easy Class skills in place and maybe even a weapon trainer skill or two, you have a lot of powerful options. Sword Dancer's Phoenix Wing is pretty good for huge packs. You can combo this with Ice Tortoise while using mobility skills and Hold The Wind.

The Caltrops item fiils a similar amount of space as Phoenix Wing, so you can just zip around scoring free hits. Don't forget flask+food, and you might want to level up a little before. I think I was 6. Ideally, you could level up mid-fight off of a minion for a cheesy heal, but it isn't necessary here.

(I'll probably die on or before the second boss, but at least I got the first boss with little trouble this time... Playing on Adventurer mode this time around, but I haven't died yet.)
Update:

I've found that Edge Thane has a lot of buffs that stack with other skills, but not a lot of direct damage attacks. It's probably better as a second class. I use her skills only when I know there are strong or plentiful enemies. Compared with other classes who might pop 2-3 skills to kill one weaker enemy, Edge Thane is better when it has time to ramp up and go crazy on the rest of your skillbar.

I am still pretty satisfied with the combination with Sword Dancer. Nothing else seems to be quite as obvious a fit, but there could be tricks out there. Brigand or Paladin are probably fine. Everything else would be sort of exotic, but knowledge about skills and interactions could turn up something good.
