omfg, this has got to be one of the WORST games I've ever played. Ever. And yes, I mean overall (and not just in the realm of adventure games).
Being a completionist, I wanted to finished "Escape" (which I did back in the day. But since the game is so forgettable, I obviously didn't remember anything from it), and then "Tales". I'm aware Gilbert and Grossman don't consider anything after monkey 2 as "very canonical" (and yes, I'm aware they found a way to make the other games canonical somehow), and I consider "Curse" a really good game (despite the art style, which I believe if it was made in an improved pixelized style of monkey 2, it would have been a masterpiece). But "Escape" and "Tales"... At least "Escape" is short.
"Tales" is a drag. It has game breaking bugs on both chapter 4 & 5 (which require you to move files from the "pack" folders... really can't believe how this has never been patched!), the control scheme is beyond terrible (even worse than "Escape", which I believed was impossible), the puzzles are dull, the characters and locations are uninspiring...
I seriously regret having played it. Should've just watched some playthrough on youtube, would certainly be less tedious.
Sorry, just venting off a little bit here.
