Today i wanted to play a little TOMI, but the Game does not start. It appears the Launcher where you can choose which Episode you want to play and that's it. No Error Message or anything else. Installed with Galaxy, with the Offline Installer, installed in different directory, nothing works. Any Idea?
Fun Fact: Steam Version runs without Problems and is now with multiple languages. But want to be able to run me DRM Free Version, that is why i bougth it here
Found the solution myself. It is a Problem with DirectX. Game will not start when a Game Controller (Gamepad, Joystick,...) is connected. Disconnect them and Game starts. Happy gaming.

hi i have the same problem, but no game controller connected. any idea?
@funatii

Any wireless Dongles plugged in? The USB Dongle from my XBox One Controller was enough, even if the Controller was off.
There were similar problems with SOF since a win10 update. In case of SOF there is a working solution. Perhaps you can test it ToMI---> make a "game".exe copy in the same directory and name it to "game" _.exe (for example) and start the game with this new .exe.
Older Telltale games have this problem in general.
Microsoft changed the dinput.dll with Windows 10.
If a XBox 360 controller is connected, Telltale games crash instantly without a message (there might be a log in the windows event history however).

The solution is to get a dinput.dll for Windows 8 and copy it into the game directory.

It's an easy fix, but Telltale never bothered to release any patches for any of their games.

They abandoned the online version of TOMI completely long before they cloesd their door. The online version of EP1 does not even contain the rerecorded voice samples of LeChuck, he still has another voice in EP1 as in the rest of the series.
(one can copy the 40MB voice samples from the DVD into the according subdirectory).
Another issue is that this game expects to be launched as Admin,
which does not work with the "indirect" lanuch via GoG Galaxy if you do not use an Admin account..

see solutions here:
Google: gog start game as admin
(sorry, I cannot post links at the moment)

e.g.
1) create a text file and name it "start.bat"
2) the content of the bat-file only needs to be the text "launcher.exe"
3) GoG Galaxy -> game propoerties -> manage installation -> configure
-> create additional executable -> select the start.bat -> set this as default executable

...
That's only partially true. It runs without Admin rights, but it may depend on where you installed it.
Games that write into files in their installation directory need writing permission of course. And if that directory happens to be in c:\Program Files ... then yes, Admin rights are needed. Since I installed in d:\games\GOG\... I don't need them. That directory does not require any elevated privileges.
