Hi all,

We have uploaded a patch called, appropriately enough, "Item Vault patch" for Windows and a new Mac and Linux builds with this patch already incorporated.

Do keep in mind that you should start a new character and keep in mind that you still need to actually make it to the Item Vault to retrieve your stored items :)

Thanks and have a nice day :)

So that means definitely that i not have to use the serial key to make an account?

Cause thats what i dont really understand. It´s stated that you need this account just to sort your achievements and saves over multiple computers.
It says not that you are limited anyhow in gameplay. So what´s about that?

Can you, mighty Judas, clear my mind? Do i get the full game WITHOUT making an account?
As far as i understand, you don't need an account to play the full game or use the item vault. If you sign online, it gives you access to leader board information mostly, what else i'm not sure, but it isn't required to play the game.

That's right, with this patch you no longer need an account. You now get access to all the features offline.

Apart from the obvious global chat and I think some server events.

So that means before that 1MB patch the gameplay without an account was actually limited? If that´s true, im very sad about gog. :(
Cause i understood it like that when i was buying: Achievement & save sorting over multiple computers. Not more. No restricts in gameplay.

Sorry for being dumb, but i dont get what this vault shall be, nor what it does. I can store my items for all characters or what?

Most of it worked fine offline. For me, the item vault was a big reason for paying for it rather than just playing the free version. I assumed it would work offline initially because gog is DRM free, but this feature needed you to be logged in and online to use it, since it stored the items on the developer's server. For some people this wasn't a big deal, but for me, this not working offline was. Luckily the developer is really good and patched it for offline.

The item vault lets you share items between your characters. There is a limited number of slots. You get it once you make it to a certain fortress, from then on you can put items in and when you get there with a new character you can withdraw those items. So if you find, for example, a great bow in one game where you are playing as a warrior, you can give it to your archer character in the other.

Thank you for clearing that finally out!

This patch seems to be no longer available for download from GOG.

The game: • asks for donations; • has disabled features (like item vault); and • does not seem to have the DLC enabled (despite being paid for and installed — see my question elsewhere).

The above applies on a fresh install on macOS 10.12.5 of ToME 1.5.3 with both DLCs as purchased from GOG.

Have I made a mistake on my end? Or has there been an accidental feature-regression with GOG version in later patch-releases on ToME.

Note that:
• \game\addons\tome-items-vault.teaa exists; and
• in-game the Addons submenu shows Items Vault 1.5.0 as Enabled.

In contrast the Addons page shows "Donator Status: Disabled" for Possessors. This is probably an indication of where the issue may lie.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

The separate patch hasn't been necessary for a long time.

I can't really help you, because I don't have access to a Mac, but everything works as expected on Linux. If GOG did mess up something, the problem is Mac-specific.

Please send an email to our Support team so we can investigate the issue better, thanks :)
Has this patch also been applied to other releases, or only on GOG? Can anyone confirm?
I am an owner of this game and all DLC via GOG. My item vault only has a capacity of three. Is this the intended behavior? I also think there is something wrong with this version because I keep getting pop-ups asking me to pay for the game.
