Yeah so after defeating him on the Exec deck, I went to the room with two datapads and a memo. There's a teleporter in the room right behind it. I went through it and now I'm stuck behind a force field. I'm looking up and down to find the same kind of button to disable the field as I saw on the other end but it's not there. It's not even just invisible, can't click anywhere to activate it.

Seeing no mentions of this anywhere, so please report here if you get the same so we know if it's a bug or not. I mean, if you've activated the reconstruction thing, you can just suicide or hopefully you've saved recently...

if someone else runs into this, please go through your save files and see if you can find the last one where it hasn't happened yet. Report here and at lease upload that save as well.

The button should be at the ceiling, in the corner next to the force field. (top left, for the second pad. First pad has it top right. Each time when looking at the force field)

Thanks for the tip. Am I unable to complete the game without visiting that area or is it just some shortcut? (Left a save file and video in the first post)

i believe there are some items but i don\t think any of then are mission critical
also it is a shortcut back to one of the elevators

i think taht the one time i got stuck there i just grenaded myself to death to respawn at thehealing station

Thank you for the video. In this case your savegame is clearly bugged, the button isn't there (visible).
No, there's nothing to miss out on, only a shortcut between two elevators - still a bummer though.

Very difficult I'd imagine. Looks like it happened before I got to the CPU nodes in any case but I didn't have another save e.g. right before entering that deck so... if someone else runs into this, please go through your save files and see if you can find the last one where it hasn't happened yet. It could be anything though...

I think I'll ask the speedrunners as well. They've "seen some shit" as they say.

This is even the classic version! This then means that the problem most likely existed all the time, I'm intrigued.

you know i think i remember having this problem myself a while back
it turned out to be a graphical glitch that caused the roof of the teleoprt booth to be rendered in front of the button
ry clicking around where it should be it may be there and useable but hidden behind the roof texture

If it's in a symmetric position compared to the other button, as I said, I tried that already. Also I don't know what he did, but dertseha says he confirmed it wasn't there.

Sorry, I realize I wasn't specific on how I verified your issue:
I've opened your savegame in the level editor (savegames are one big snapshot of the whole station), and the button is removed - i.e., at the location where something should be, there's no level object.

As to why this happened I have no immediate answer. Two immediate possible starting points for theories are
* A bug in the software. Although feasible, I'd wonder why it would happen with this specific button.
* A bug in the level. There's an action that allows to remove an arbitrary object in the level. Also feasible, yet I wonder why this doesn't happen all the time.

Either way, there would be more time needed for investigation, and both feel unlikely. Hence I have no idea what could be the probable cause.
