- Mouslook stuttery / not responsive (using a dedicated Logitech driver). Not playable for me right now.
- Game is way too bright. Upon launch of the game, the mac desktop looses a whole lot of contrast ratio and goes back to normal, a brief moment after the game is closed. I suspect the WINE implementation to have something to do with it.
- Ingame gamma adjustment has no effect.

Does anybody else have similar issues?

I'm using a 2015 iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch), MacOS 10.12.6, Apple Mouse 2. Running the default Mac build from GOG.

Mouse works great for me.

Game lighting is fine for me. I do see the dimming you're talking about though.

This does not work for me either.

Unfortunately I'm far from a WINE expert, so I have no suggestions about how to fix the game for you :(.

Thanks for your reply! I'll try to adjust my driver settings in order to get better results.

I am no WINE expert either, so I guess we have to rely on Nightdive Studios to fix it at some point. I posted the info on the official Nightdive Forums hoping to get some attention.
GOG is using a normal Wineskin wrapper for SS2. You can change the Wine engine to the latest version (2.16) and enable the Mac graphics driver to get the in-game gamma slider working.

Mouse look has always worked fine for me, so I can't really offer a solution for the stuttery mouse problem. Changing to the new wine engine and Mac driver might already be enough to make it work correctly, but I wouldn't hold my breath. You could also try to change the MouseWarpOverdrive settings with Winetricks.

Should I post detailed instructions for this stuff?

Thanks, I'll take a look at it in a couple of days. I don't think instructions are necessary at this time. Thanks again :)
might be useful for other people though, so if you have something, go ahead.
Edit: The game is now compatible with macOS High Sierra, since 1.46 was released on February 26, 2018. I don't think any configuration is needed in order to run the game with the latest patch. I'll still try to get the game to run in windowed mode, which doesn't work as well as it did under 1.45. In fact, the game crashes a lot after disabling the native driver (which is the only way I know of in order to be able to run it windowed).

1.46:

Open Finder -> Application -> Right click on "System Shock 2" -> Double click Wineskin -> Set Screen Options

- Set "Extra Gamma Correction" to none (bar to the far left)
- Haven't found a stable custom config yet. Turning down gamma doesn't seem to cause any issues though. Will update this post at some point.

1.45:

Open Finder -> Application -> Right click on "System Shock 2" -> Show Package Contents -> Contents -> Resources -> game -> Right click on "System Shock 2" -> Show Package Contents -> Double Click "Wineskin" -> Set Screen Options

- Check "Virtual desktop at: 1920x1080" (or whichever resolution you need)
- Set "Extra Gamma Correction" to none (bar to the far left)
- Uncheck all checkboxes under "Other Options"
- Disabling the native macOS graphics driver does allow to run the game in windowed mode

Try to edit wineskin screen options. Amurgaming managed to solve this problem two posts above. I tried few conf. and finally SS2 started

The game was updated today, making it compatible with macOS High Sierra. And my savegames just got overwritten.

Edit: Updated my posting above to reflect some of the changes introduced with Wineskin 11.

The game crashes a lot since the latest update. While hanging out in the main menu over a period of 5 minutes, the app crashed 3 times.

Edit: Using the native macOS driver solves the crash issue. However the game won't run in windowed mode anymore.
