I just purchased System Shock (1). Now I have a "Classic Edition" and an "Enhanced Edition" in my collection. What is the difference?

SS1 EE uses a custom wrapper that allows the game to run properly on windows (much faster than DOSbox), supports higher/custom resolutions and a few other extras (see sshock.ini). it also adds a (much needed) pseudo mouselook mode, which makes the controls tolerable to the modern player.

Classic is the unaltered CD version of the game, afaik.

Do you know if the enhanced edition also runs on Windows 98?

my guess is that it doesn't, but feel free to try (the demo is portable, and the latest EE patch works with it, so ideal for testing).
