Hi, does anybody know whether getting this to work in higher resolutions (1920x1080?) is possible at all?
Yes, the option is availible straight "out of the box"! :D

It also seems to have resolutions for both 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios.
in cam.cfg change game_screen_size to your resolution:

game_screen_size 1920 1080

For some reason it does not list all resolutions, not sure if this is for compatibility issues or what.

I'm not seeing anything that high :(

Huh. I'm sorry, then. :\

Wish I could help.
Yeah weird in my options screen it showed a slew of choices for both 16:9 and 10. It had the 1600 X 900 my little m14x uses.
I've managed to select 1920x1080 right from the options screen, with no cfg messing around as usual in an old game like this.

quick dumb "I-know-you-did" question, did you use your mouse scroll wheel to see if there are other resolutions past the last one? I can't remember if they had any indication of them being down at all.
Highest 16x9 res available to me this morning when I installed was 1366 x 768. Will try editing the config at lunch or after work.
Yea I am also missing the native 1920x1200, but 1920x1080 is here as is 1680x1050... Well who cares, good enough for now :)

Just open cam.cfg in your editor of choice and change the resolution under the game_screen_size variable as such:
game_screen_size 1920 1200

this worked for me. Now I'm running the game at 2560x1440. I also changed the number of sounds from 48 to 128 (because my sound card can do that) now that this game uses OpenAL
Weird. I have every possible resolution there is, right out of the box; even a few that I'm pretty sure my monitor doesn't support (not going to try them to confirm). Anyone know how the game is populating the available res list? Is it polling from the video card/monitor or does it just have a default list?
Odd, mine had 1920x1200 listed right out of the box.
For me the solution was switching the selection in the hardware driver list. My GPU was listed there twice and one of them only showed 4:3 resolutions and the other also showed 16:10. Might have something to do with limited multimonitor support.

Mine is exactly the same list that shows up in Windows (Win7 x64) under Screen Resolution. I had to check because I thought it showed a few more but nope it's the Windows list.

SS2 worked flawlessly at 1920x1200 right out of the box for me. No tweaks needed.
