That you needed a Interface Demodulator to fix relay 428. How would I know that? The game never said what these things were for?

I think that the System Analyzer will tell you the part you need if you analyze the 428 relay.
This is something that is frankly stated ingame via the audio logs.

And it's probably something akin to a reimaging disk. Wipe the module, replace it with a fresh install.

It didn't say I needed to go to a System Analyzer to tell me the part I needed.

The audio logs never told me about a Interface Demodulator.

When you use the Jettison Enable Master Control switch the system tells you (via in-game audio) to check repair bay 3 for diagnostics. The diagnostics report (audio log) tells you the relay number and for repair instructions to consult the Relay Analyzer. After entering 428 on the Relay Analyzer, it tells you (via in-game audio) to "Replace broken interface demodulator."

That I did but I never heard the audio log when I checked Relay 428.
