Is the mouse sensitivity supposed to be lower when you're attacking with the wrench (or i guess any slow melee weapon)? I know it's kinda nitpicking but i wanna know if i'm the only one with the issue.
Nope.
The wrench seems to have a fairly small area where it actually connects, and it's not necessarily intuitive from the animation where that will be.

The sensitivity with the mouse is the same though.
The wrench hits at the head of the wrench. Whatever it tries to pass through in world space, that's what it hits. Collision detection with map geometry (walls, etc) is deliberately turned off though.

Did you try moving the mouse while swinging the wrench or you just moved the mouse while holding it still?
