I have been having problems jumping onto things. Finally I am in the game where I rode the elevator at POD 2 to get to the Bridge. When it stopped I was upside down due to the gravity issue. However when the hatch opened up (in a downward fashion) I could not go through it. It is like there is an invisible wall not allowing me to move forward. Just could not move straight through or even jump through it. Anyone having this experience. I have several of the mods in put in the game.

Looking like I may have to re-install the game and see if the jumping will work properly. If anybody has any suggestions on this I would appreciate them. Otherwise the game plays quite well. I have WIN7 64-bit and using Nvidia 580 GTX. Strange problem I have never had in a game before this.

You have to move back slightly so you can make a running jump through. Seems like a glitch but it's not.
Thanks for the quick reply. I was just trying it again and getting steamed. Then I said, the heck with this and I took a shot at going through the hatchway sideways and I slipped through the opening without any problem. Did not even try to do a jump while I slid sideways. Go figure!!

And always remember that you climb obstacles when keeping the jump key pressed. It even helps getting over low obstacles that cannot be jumped to due clipping issues.

"Clipping issues"? What?

Issues with proper collision detection I'd say. Those that the engine faces ever since Thief games.
Thanks.

I did not look at using the jump key in that fashion. I tried it a couple of times and noticed that you will slowly climb over a reasonably sized object doing that. I have not tried it extensively. As soon as I get back to the game I will open the saved game at the hatch I had problems with and try that out.

This is something that SS2 inherited from Thief, called "mantling". Pretty much any vertical surface from chest-high to head-high can be climbed onto (if there's a place to stand at the top). Even higher if you do a running jump. Occasionally useful in the cargo bays.

Defnitely not needed to get out of the inverted Rickenbacker elevator though. A quick running hop should take care of that.
