It's shocking how bad this game is in vanilla. I mean, it's so bad that there's a community for it, whose sole purpose is to mod it with enhancing tweaks and fixes just to make it run properly.

It also looks terrible, every humanoid has this weird triangle shaped face and when most enemies dies, their corpse clips through the ground or wall if they're near any.

This is my opinion and I have my rights to express myself. It's a free world after all, so don't come with your "Go play COD or whatever" because that's just embarrass you more than you wanting to insult me.

It feels like you are angling for a fight. However, classic games can sustain a few body blows; you aren't the first person to have strong opinions about SS2. You're certainly not the first to insult its looks - I'm pretty sure reviewers were unkind to the Dark Engine's character models back when these games were released!

I will say that the clipping you're describing is pretty typical for a game from 16 years ago. The kind of collision detection needed to model each part of the skeleton and adjust it according to walls or surfaces nearby either did not exist or was not something that could be run on computers from that time. So, while it might look odd to gamers now, I don't think its really a fair complaint.

You've really only touched on peripheral graphics issues. What did you think of the rest of the game?

Troll: -1

Move along folks, nothing to see here. Feeding hours are over.

Everything else is pure gold, so I don't get what ZylonBane is going for here.

Wait, what!? This isn't a troll topic? It had me fooled for a few hours. So it is an angsty teen rant then. Next up, we are going to trash talk an entire generation for not dropping a bunker buster on top of Hitler's hideout in 1945. Freaking n00bs don't know tactics.

Uh, I'm going for pointing out that you're trolling. First you say SS2 is shockingly bad, then turn around and say it's pure gold. Classic troll tactic... dance all over the place so you can't be pinned down to any one opinion.

And you also said, "I mean, it's so bad that there's a community for it, whose sole purpose is to mod it with enhancing tweaks and fixes just to make it run properly." This is possibly the single most stupid thing I've ever seen posted on these forums. By that logic, Doom, Half-Life, and The Elder Scrolls are the worst games EVER. SS2 has barely over a dozen modders working on it, while those games have hundreds. They must be awful! Right?!?

Jesus Christ, this isn't a fanbase. It's a cult.

it's actually the other way around - the game is so good that even after 15 years, there are still people that think it's worth to invest considerable amounts of effort just to make sure it stays up to date, so anyone/everyone would be able to enjoy it now and in the future.

nobody gives a damn about bad games - they don't get modded or improved, they just fade out.
Just let this thread die.

Well you're the one who made it... Really though, the only shocking thing here is that you were capable of creating a post despite your inability to locate the reply button.

(Hint: its to the right)

EDIT: I'd just like to say im sorry for posting this reply Ghostbreed. Your comment indicated that you regreted this thread and wanted to end the conversation, yet I abrasively replied despite your request. This was a hateful thing for me to do and I hope you can forgive me.

Your account seems to comprimised somehow, so you might not see this message. But wherever you are I hope that everyone loves you (as in, want the best for you) and you are very joyful.

P.S. Sorry for the necro everybody!
