Hey all,

About to start my first play through and I wanted to install graphics/texture mods as per the recommendation of some forum members. However; when I attempt to use the mod manager it states something like "SS2 will not be recognized by the mod manager if the game install resides in the \program files\ directory".

Does anyone know of a way I can maintain the installation's current foothold and still use the mod manager?

there is a reason why it does that, that reason program files being the worst possible place from which you can run the game (a special permission folder, capable of glitching the game out in a thousand different ways. and unfortunately, the default steam install location).

copy/move the game pretty much anywhere else (C:\Games\SS2 is my recommended location) and everything will work properly. also, patching up with SS2tool will install the mod manager for you, among other things.
