I've got a very strange glitch occurring in SS2 where the screen will freeze in place and the audio stutters after about 10-20 seconds of game play. If I hit Esc to enter the menu, a couple seconds later the menu comes up and the glitch has ended, then when I leave the menu, the glitch occurs once again after 10-20 secs of game play. I have no mods installed, just the installer from GOG.

I'm thrilled to actually have this game again, as I lost it and hundreds of others in a hurricane years ago, but if I can't play it I can't enjoy it. Any help would be appreciated.

System Specs:
Win 7 64-bit OS, AMD Phenom II X4 960T CPU, ASUS M4A89TD PRO USB3 MOBO, 8 GB G.Skill DDR3 RAM, GigaByte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 OC 2GB GPU, ASUS Xonar DG soundcard

have you tried using openal as your sound driver?

voodoo47: have you tried using openal as your sound driver?
I'm afraid you need to explain to me how to do that. I see no options in game for changing my sound driver, only my "hardware driver" under video. When I originally played the game years ago, I had a Win98 machine running on either a Voodoo2 or Riva TNT 2 board, with a Creative Labs Soundblaster 16-bit sound card and it ran fine.

Should I try SS2Tool to fix it?

Edit: Okay, I found the OpenAL option and that seems to have fixed it. Thanks voodoo47!
