I just installed System Shock the Enhanced edition, and while everything else seems to be fine, the music is playing way too fast. Annoyingly so. The sound fx is stuttering too. The classic version sounds just fine.

I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find any answers. Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix it? Or have any ideas?

I'm on win xp.

Thanks.

Edit: after paying closer attention, it would seem that it's not really playing too fast, but rather playing the wrong instruments. I tried using virtualmidisynth and with some of the suggested sound fonts, but no luck getting it to sound right.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to download the system shock portable either to try just playing the classic version with mouselook.

you still can get SSP, as long as you are a legal owner of the original game (you obviously are). maybe try that and see whether things improve, or try to play with EE config files - the audio can be tricky.
