A Japanese movie I'd been looking for about a decade ago (Shall We Dance) was only re-released in the US on DVD due to an American remake. When I watched the preview on the DVD for the remake after watching the original I remember thinking "How can they possibly consider THAT as convincing that the remake is worth anything other than avoiding?" I've still successfully avoided observing anything more about the remake, and have watched the original quite a few times. I appreciate the marketers both for helping me obtain something I wanted and clearly showing me how much I didn't want what they were trying to push.
I've paid no attention, then or now, about the new Syndicate game, though. So no clue how apt/extraneous the above comparison might be.
