Hello!
I'd love to buy Syndicate Wars to get a perfectly working version but I remember that it's really hard to get to work properly with DosBox. I spent hours tweaking it and I it worked but I never got rid of the sound issues in the menu. And playing it natively under windows I remember that it crashed with inverted colors in the middle of one of the earlier missions.
So how does the GOG version work overall? Is it full of technical issues or does it work fine? I use Win 7 Pro 64 Bit, btw.

Hey!

DOSBox support has been good for a while now. Two things to be aware of:

* No speed throttle
Menus are the correct speed at 20,000 cycles
In-game should ideally run at around 50-60,000 cycles (lo-res) or 100-120,000 (hi-res)

* Mouse will occasionally get stuck when scrolling
Use keyboard scrolling (remappable to WASD)

Alternatively, you can use the windows port. It runs smoother, but has a few sound issues (crackling audio, L/R channels inverted) and the cursor isn't locked in windowed mode, so it'll generally work best in fullscreen mode w/ gpu scaling enabled.

(Just in case you haven't heard, there's also a spiritual successor to Syndicate Wars in the works.)

Okay, I think that's as far as I got. Hmm, not sure if that's good enough for me but at least now I know what to expect, so thanks a lot!

And thanks for the info about Satellite Reign! Now that you mention it I heard about it a while back but forgot about it later on.
