Hey,

I bought and installed Syberia 1 & 2 but when I try to load any of them, all I see is the Microids logo and then I get a Windows Vista error message saying "Syberia Executable has stopped working". It's the same for both Syberia and Syberia 2 while all other games I got from GOG run fine. Since this message is all I get I don't even have a clue what's wrong...

Has anybody had a similar experience or does anyone know what could be the cause of it?

Thanks!

This question / problem has been solved by KavazovAngelimage
have you tried the admin options?(execute as, win xp, etc)
I've tried "run as an administrator" to no avail but I admit I haven't played around with the compatibility options yet.
Try running the game via the game.exe, not syberia.exe.
Thanks for trying to help, Guacamole and KavazoAngel! I've got to apologize for keeping silent for such a long time but I only just returned from a vacation and didn't have access to my computer and my Syberia installation in the meantime.

I tried running game.exe but got an error message saying something like "C:\Windows\system32\MSVCP60.dll is either not meant to be run under Windows or it is faulty."

Searching a bit on the internet I read there's a chance some other program might have overwritten the required file with a different version, so I gues it's best to try and reinstall that dll?
Apparantly the cause of my issues was the file version of MSVCP60.dll. I checked the one in my system folder and it had a 2009 stamp, meaining that it's newer than Syberia or that it was modified by some other program. I downloaded an older version of the dll from the internet (with a 2001 stamp), just dropped it into the game folder of Syberia & Syberia 2 and now I'm able to run both games as intended, without any other measures necessary.

Since I can't declare the problem solved by marking my own post as the solution, I'll mark the post that put me on the right track. Thanks! :)
