It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

tried everything here, nothing worked, so I just bought this and 2 for like 5 bucks on steam and it worked perfectly. So I guess it's just a gog thing since it isn't very compatible for new machines, and until they update things I just wont play it here

This helped me. Thanks.
I think that maybe the problem is in the game itself and you should try downloading an older version of this game. It just happens that after an update the game may not start because of an error in the code. But I advise you to download a previous version of the game e.g. from The Pirate Bay to make sure that the problem is not with your drivers. If it doesn't start, then get help from a specialist.

But this problem occurs on multiple games and now I find I can't install Robin Hood: Legend of Sherwood Forest either.
Know this an older thread, but maybe this helps someone. Although I don't own the game, was helping my wife install it.

Kept getting the E2 installation finalized error.

I went into the game folder and launched the game there manually. Got a pop up from windows to install a Windows Feature "DirectPlay". Installed it. Game launched.

GOG Galaxy still says the E2 error but now the play button isn't greyed out and was able to launch it there as well.

jlbrad: I have had Windows 11 installed for months and just played Syberia 1 and 2 completely in Jan/Feb this year. I had one problem regarding my 1440p 27" screen in Sy. 1 and temporarily changing the screen res. to 1080p allowed it to run.
I was able to run Syberia 1 after doing two things:

1) I got an error after installing it with GOG Galaxy. I ran the backup installer, and it installed successfully, however, when I tried to run the game, it said 'failed to initialize 3d engine'.

2) I changed the display resolution to 1920x1080, and then finally it runs successfully.

Now I have another problem, getting errors while trying to save my game progress. Still figuring it out :)

What I did was change the compatibility of Syberia exe to run on Windows Xp (service pack 2) and check marked "Run in 640x480 screen resolution." and everything seems to be working so far. Granted I just started so who knows if anything wrong will happen later.
Total BS that this isn't fixed. No problems with Steam version. GOG just too lazy.
Looks like I managed to make it work on Windows 11 by following suggestions here as well from the Steam forum for Syberia.

(Try the installation again if you removed the game out of rage)
Go to the game folder (if you don't know where it is, open the game folder of another game through the button next to Play -> Manage installation -> Show folder, then go up one folder, and into Syberia)
Right click on the file Syberia (Syberia.exe if the extension is shown)
Select Properties
Select the Compatibility tab
Select Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) from the dropdown
Select Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution
Repeat for the file Game (Game.exe)
Run the file Syberia
If asked, install DirectPlay, if not, you can install it by hand by searching in Start menu or right on the Taskbar for Windows Features, and in there selecting Legacy Components -> DirectPlay and clicking OK
Install DirectX End-User Runtime from Microsoft
...links are not allowed, so I'll try an image instead
Run the file Syberia
Enjoy the game!

SmollestLight: Unfortunately, Windows 11 is not supported by the game, which is also shown on the product page.
I suggest you check my guide and update your install scripts because this is quite an infuriating failure on your part.
